• lots of questions about a jet chip

1. Is it a major difference in performance.
2. Could i use it on more than one firebird, so i could sell it to my friends and have them re use it?
3. Is it bad on the engine in any way.
4. Bad on gas mileage.
5. Cheapest place to buy it? jetchip.com?

thanks, mike

Gas mileage won't increase or decrease but you'd be required to use high octane gas.

You can put them in multiple cars as long as they are the same model. Check Jetchip.com to see what year cars take what chip.

You'll notice a difference with the chip, it won't be like a WOW thing but the car will run smoother and you'll feel more quickness in it.

It in no way harms the engine. Basically the chip does 2 things: changes the air/fuel ratio and modifies the timing by 5%

1. I gained 3 tenths of a second in the 1/4 mile with it
2. As long as the same model chip can be used in both cars, yes
3. Nah
4. Yes, you MUST use premium gas or your doing more harm than good with it and you will lose gas mileage.
5. Buy it used, they don't go bad, do not buy it from jet chip, at the very least you can get them about 70+ bucks cheaper at summitracing.com

I looked at the Jetchip site and did not see a product for my 1997 Camaro 3.8L. I then emailed them and they do not offer one. So what are you guys using?

go to the for sale forum to get a used one, they are out there, do a search, wait a little while for someone to sell theirs, it will come around.

Just ask Kidinthehall2001 how much he likes mine

Its annoying how some see MASSIVE gains and some see NONE.
