I heard that it should be ABOUT 10 psi for every 1000 rpm your tach goes to, and if its lower and you have the right amount of oil then you need an overhaul, but if its higher then maybe check the oil pump or just the amount of oil you have in it? Or maybe, i doubt it but did you use the right weight of oil?

The documentation that I have suggests that the "normal" pressure should be somewhere between 60psi and 75psi. Those numbers assume normal engine operating temperature and 2000rpm.

According to my gauge in my 2001, if you can believe Camaro gauges, I run at 75psi.

I guess that you change your oil and filter regularly and are using the proper oil and filter. If not, that could be a problem

Assuming that this 90psi has just occured and you were running lower than that before, the first things that come to my mind are a failing gauge and/or a failing sending unit. Another simple possibility is that the oil filter is not functioning properly. Did this 90psi happen after an oil change or did it happen out of the blue?

One thing you could do is pull the oil pressure sending unit and check the oil pressure with a hand held pressure gauge. If you have the equipment or it is available free locally, you could do it electronically and not mechanically.

Obviously, if the car is still under warranty and there is a dealer you can trust to do work properly (not fixing one thing and breaking three in the process) then have the dealer check it out.

For what it is worth, that is my speculation -- good luck.
