  • Manual Fan Use?

Ok,i got my manual fan mod and it works. My question is, when do you use it? Do you just use it whenever you want to or at a specific time. Also, do the the fans still kick in automaticaly? because my fans kick in low by them self and my light that indicates that the fan is in low comes on with it too.And sometimes my SES light comes on for a while, but when i shut the car off for a moment it goes out.I'm not sure if is the fan switch or the 160* thermo since i did bouth mods at the same time.
    Thanx for the help.

i'm pretty sure the other fans still come on.

You can use the manual fan anytime you want to keep the car cool though. I've heard its really useful in traffic jams or on the starting line when you're just idling.

Your most likely throwing the SES light because of the 160 stat. I don't think there is a fix for that.

I found out that if you have the fans on and the temp drops below a sertain level it shoots a SES light.

The fan switch will induce an SES light if its homemade - sorry.

Your fans will still remain at stock operations, at least w/ the slp kit. I run my all the time and I have never thrown an ses light. Probably that thermo!

The SLP switch doesn't throw a SES light because it uses a relay instead of just grounding the wire like most home made ones do. A home made fan switch will throw the SES light.

Also, if you ever have your SES code scanned, it can be a fan circuit malfunction code. Basically, the computer sees how cool the car is and how long they've been on, and wants them off, but since you keep them on, it throws a code thinking defective fan circuit. I have yet to throw a code just due to the lower temp thermostat, get yours scanned, you may be suprised!

Oh, and sometimes, if you live in a hot climate, your high fans will turn on by themseklves, and both little LED's will light up, don't be alarmed, it's natural especially at idle for long periods of time, they have always had a high and low, just now you can tell when they're on.
