  • Need help ASAP, car won't start

This morning I go out to start my car and nothing happens, lights won't come on, no radio, no power at all, except the red light on the dash for the alarm is freaking out blinking like crazy and I hear this tick, tick, tick, that doesn't stop until I try to start the car again. So I shut the doors checked the battery wires and all, get back in, try to start it up and the red light for the alarm thing goes crazy again and the ticking starts. Anyone know what the hell is going on?

    maybe you triped your alarm!?!?!

you might have to disconnect it - fully! or just unplugged your battery. kinda like a reset button! thats my 2cents!

It's factory alarm, the ticking noise seems to be coming from the glove box or possibly the speaker, hard to tell really. I'm waiting for my roomate to wake up so we can jump start it. I'm just worried if it is something wrong with the alarm system and that's what's maybe drained the battery or something it may keep doing it. Is there a way to just unconnect the alarm system?

I've heard about this before, you should do a search and you will definatly find your answer.

I don't think jump starting it will help.

I think you may have to hotwire it. I believe that the problem lies in the chip in your key.

its a car bomb, that's what the ticking is. I'm just kidding. I believe it the security chip on your key, so how it got tripped and will not let you start your car. I would call the dealership and tell them what's going on and what you should do to get your car running again. If it not that', then I don't know what it is. Hope that helps

I disagree, I had the key thing happen when my lock cylinder went bad. If you have no power, that's not it. My guess is dead battery, and clicking might be the starter solenoid trying to send the current to start it, but without enough crnking amps, it is futile. Jump it off, go to Advance, and get the battery and alternator tested.
