Should I replace my oil pan after I pull my motor?(http://www.camarov6.com/cgi-bin/ulti...&f=16&t=000734) Would it be better to have a fresh gasket surface? And does anyone have a price on them? Or about how much they cost?

Whenever I did engines (in my past life as a mechanic), I would just run the gasket surface of the oil pan on the wire wheel on my bench grinder to get it nice and clean - I don't think that they have changed the design of cars so much over the past 20 years that this technique would no longer work. If you don't have bench grinder handy, put a wire wheel on your hand grinder and go at it - it should work fine, but is a little more difficult to do than with a bench grinder.
If the pan is in good shape (no dents), and the gasket surface is still true (not bent when pried off of the engine), I see no reason to spend money on a new pan....it\'s lonely out in space...
