• is it my starter?

lately i have been having some problems with my '94 firebird...after driving for a half hour or so, and then stopping and turning off my car for a short period of time, it doesn't seem to be able to start corectly i mean it turns over but i have to turn the key over for a longer amount of time than usual and it is almost as if i don't have enough battery power to start..but it is a new battery and we hooked up a meter to the battery..started my car it it stayed at 14..so my battery has enough power...does anyone know what the problem is?
\'93 and \'94 V6 black firebirds...
stock (for now) my 94 now has blackouts, bosch plugs, a jvc 3-d lcd screen headunit..soon to get a flowmaster, american thunder exhaust system...and some nice rims!!
check out my wrecked \'93 firebird..
http://www.cardomain.com/id/birdmadgirl

If your engine cranks, your starter is fine.
Sounds like a fuel or ignition problem. When was your last tuneup, and what did it include?

fuel filter, new spark plug wires, and new air filter.
Are you getting a "sevice engine soon" (SES) light on the dashboard? If so, get it scanned to see what the problem is. It may be a sensor that went bad somewhere, and you can end up spending lotza $$ trying to analyze the problem yourself.
If you aren't getting an SES light, it's probably something like a clogged fuel filter.

When you say it takes a little time to start does it sit and crank for like 10 seconds, then fire?

Or do you have the key turned and the nothing happens, then you do it again and nothing happens then it will start to crank, a little "off beat" then fire?
