• 3.8L Spark Plugs???

I have a 96 Camaro V6 3800 Series II... I'm modding it out and want some good performance plugs and wires. I can get some Iradium's for about $80... What do ya think? Email me if you want at horzaj@yahoo.com

If you're running naturally aspirated (no nitrous, supercharger, turbo...), then don't go irridium. Go with either the stock AC Delco Platinums, or else the AC Delco Rapidfires (which ARE also platinum, P/N 14). I have the Rapidfires on right now. No complaints.

I'd say to go with the Bosch platinum. I used the +4's but i dunno if that would make a difference. Im very happy with them and they even took that annoying popping noise out of my exaust!

Just my .02. Don't go with the bosche +4's. First of all they die +4 times as fast as other plugs. And second what is the point of having four, when only one works at a time. I say go delco. I've said before and i will say it again..."if it is good enough for the general, then it is good enough for me!"

I agree with Sean.. (Once again) Bosch +4's are THE WORST CRAP you can put in your motor for plugs. The foul out SERIOUSLY after les that 5K miles if you do not do much highway driving.. I sell the things.. I have MANY MANY MANY people insist they are good, then they come back and say they are crap and they want their money back.. Good Ole Delcos are good enough.. It is not as if the plugs make a difference.. BUT!! If you wanna spend HELLA cash on Iridium plugs, be my guest.. The Iridium plugs do not conduct as well as Copper.. Copper is the BEST conductor there is when it comes to plugs.. Who cares if they only last for about 30K? Point is, IF (and only IF) there is power to be made in plugs, you are more likely to make it in a Copper plug than anything else.. Remember backa few years ago when Ford began saying the motors did not have to be serviced for 100,000 miles? That was because of the Timing belt, AND the Platinum plugs.. Platiunim is not a good conductor either..

Believe me.. I have sold plugs for going on 2 years now, and I will Suggest Delco to EVERY EVERY GM that comes in.. Hell, I have convinced some Ford and Chrysler guys to run them.. Motorcrap and ChamPEEON are CRAP..

BUT Do whatever you want.. If you wanna spend HELLA HELLA lots of money on a plug that will not perform as well as a Copper plug.. Be my guest..

Have fun, what ever you do..

Good stuff. No need to argue.. Just don't be surprised.. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing Wrong, per say, with Platinums.. They just do not perform as well as Coppers.. They are not designed for more power.. (Regardless of the CRAP Bosch Claims.. ) They are designed for people that do not wanna change their plugs.. IN THEORY the 4 prong idea is a good idea, but IN ACTUALLITY, it really isn't.. I just thought it was funny that Bosch said the +4 was a "New Design" When you can pull NGK Intake plugs from a 13B Rotary (2nd Gen RX-7) and see the same plug.. LOL

The things companies will do for publicity..

(OH, and the only reason I HATE +4's so much is that fact that people ACTUALLY think they improve HP.. ) Nothing personal.. HA

The ONLY thing I suggest to those types are the Book "Modern engine tuning" by A. Graham Bell.

Seriously.. If you have not read this.. It IS worth it..

                Enjoy!

Yep, Bosch +4s are a scam and a waste of money. As per audience response, it seems that they are crap plugs that will lose their gap quickly.

get AC Delco Platinums. They should last 100,000 miles or so, at least thats what it says on the box. I have them and they are great, no problems with them. They are not so expensive either, only 42 bucks for six of them. I had champions on my car and they misfired 20,000 miles later, they are crap.

no, i would not to with AC delco's...they aren't really that great of a plug. get bosch platinum 4+'s...that's what i would recommend. if running a power adder--i would go with NGK's. 6 bosch's cost about $36.

At 67k miles I had my stock Delco's replaced and the Dealer was kind enough to give me my old ones back, they looked great, the mechanic said they didn't really need to be replaced but did it anyway since I brought the plugs to them. They did this at the same time they replaced my plug wires for free. :)

Actually I went with NGK Iridiums. Haven't noticed any gain or loss really but they seemed a little better than platinums from what I read. I don't really want to change mine any time soon or else I might have gone with copper. I mostly bought them because I think "Iridium" really sounds cool to say, ha ha. They were also the same price as the AC Delco Platinums so I figured, what the heck.

Just noticed that this was Justin. I heard that you beat me? I don't recall us racing since I beat you behind Sams like last winter. Either way, we need to race soon. Raced Nick in his 5.0 GT last night. He finnally past me around 110mph which is better than the new GT could do that I raced, he couldn't gain an inch on me at that speed.

You can get the NGK Iridiums for $6 each with like $8 for shipping and handling. I got Taylor wires and some letter inserts at the same time and the shipping and handling stays the same.
