is there a wayi can test the spark coming from a coil pack?
if i take it to autozone or wherever, could i just take the wire off of cylinder 1 coil and have them test the spark from there?
or could i do that myself?

Quick and dirty (from the dealer service guys). Just pull both the wires off of the coil, and someone turn it ove real quick, then turn it off. There should be an arc between the posts. If there's not, the coil's shot.
