thanks wolf for the info but by any chance do you know the cost of the bearing for the tensoner pully cost and how hard is it to install? Also if you don't mind me asking how did you know that it is the third brake light that is out because in my owners manual it said not to drive the car with the light on but it didn't say anything about it just being the third brake light being out.

You will have to get the tensioner assymbly, don't know how mugh, but easy to get to & replace. For the low output a/c, you cain go to a parts store, get a gauge & refill. for full service, take it to a qualified mechanic.

Also another thought about the ABS INOP it pops on everytime your car charges low. Just a thought if oyur belt is not turning the compressor it won't work well and if the belt ain't turning the alternator it won't charge well thus throwing the ABS INOP light(safety feature to give the car more power then to jsut die on you)

PErsonally I woudl assume a belt issue before oyu tried recharging your AC and changing brake lights. Seems to things leading to the belt not spinning things right then something off the wall like the 3rd brake light, which will set off the light, but my car is a 94 with 128,000 miles on it and I have the stock 3rd brake light(*knock on wood*)

And if the tensionor is not creating tensions on the belt, it may only be half turning the accessories, notice any problems with the powe steering or enigne temps?

I also had teh ABS light stay on in my Blazer. There was a lead fromt he POS battery cable that went to the ABS computer. It has corroded thru. Check & see if your battery cable also has this. I was able to cut & splice to fix problem.

What year was your Blazer, I had headaches and headaches of brake problems on a 92 GMC Jimmy I had between my 85 camaro and my 94 Camaro.

Just a thought, maybe the ABS system is malfunctioning and the light has been thrown. The manual is right, don't drive the car until you find the root of the problem, it can cause serious damage to the ABS system.

As for the AC...is the compressor making any noise? Loud scraping or squealing? It could be low on R134A, but if it just spins and never engages, it could be a bad compressor or pump...or just out of 134A. A major leak will be obvious, there will be an oily deposit near a fitting on the system, but not all leaks can be seen. You can add dye, or use a refrigerant detector. Any shop can do these things.
