  • Car died, please help

My car was recently returned to me this past Friday after extensive bodywork (camaro vs. deer incident). At first it seemed fine, then one night, when I flicked the brights on, the car went dead - completely - for a second or two and fired back up. I thought it may have been the alternator, but after having it tested, everything seemed okay. Then just yesterday, I stopped for gas. The car was idling lower than usual (500-600 rpm instead of 1000), and after gassing up, the car was dead. No lights, no nothing. I jiggled a few cables near the battery, and it fired up and ran fine. When I got it home, I spent some time checking the charging cables, etc. and found that the negative battery cable was loose. I tightened it before leaving for work this morning. Could this have been the only problem? Causing the low idle and everything? Or do I need to take it back to the repair shop and make sure they didn't mess anything else up? Thanks for any help.

(If this post shows up elsewhere, just respond to one or the other - thanks again.)

yes a bad ground would cause that problem...

Obviously sounds like you fixed the problem if you no longer have the symptoms.
