Whats the difference between a 160 and a 180, is one safer? is one better?

They both make the car run cooler creating more horsepower. 160 degree thermo makes car cooler than 180. 160 cool lead to less heat during winter time at highway speeds, rumor of car going into a loop condition (can't remember open or closed). Do a search. In fact, all of what you're asking has been covered. Try the search button at the top of the screen. A good starting place for you would be the modifications encylopedia. Lots of good information. That's where I started. By the time I finished reading it all, had a real good understanding of what was available for our cars and what isn't. To be honest with you. Most of our bolt on topics are just rehashing on what we learned for the mod ency.

Thermo won't do you any good without a manual fan switch, do a search on this subject. :D

you dont need a manual fan switch, no one has said anything about that. the thermostat uses releases coolant to cool the engine, whats the manual fan switch needed for?
