hi guys, gidday from new zealand, ive just brought a 90 deg v6 its a 229 i think. i dont know if its an odd fire/semi even or even fire engine how do you tell? the engine nos are 1A1408856 AND TO313CL. this engine is fully worked and has approx 320 hp @7500 rpm i have it in a 1000kg sedan and am hoping to run 12s n/a and 11s on nos . iwant to upgrade the dissy so i need to know what configuration it is. can someone help me or can direct me to someone who can

WOW! I have no idea what some of those things are, but I think it's awesome with the way they describe their engines. Also, what is a dissy?

If you have a 229ci engine with approx 320hp, I'd LOVE to see pics of it and what was done to it. Maybe I can upgrade my dissy too :D
he said its a 90* V6..which would mean its a fourth gen..fourth gens dont have a distributor..we use a Distributorless Ignition System..hence..for example..the MSD DIS-4..which will work on our cars..and the MSD 6A..which wont

GM 90° V6s go back to the 70s, and they had distributors then. ;)
huh..i stand corrected..i thought all third gens were 60* [img]smile.gif[/img] ..in that case..sorry..i dont know how to upgrade the distributor because my car doesnt have one lol
im pretty sure its a mid 80s vintage at the moment it has a hei distributor[dissy] but the advance curve is all up the **** iwant to upgrade to a msd pro billet and msd 6a. the basic specs are 60 thou over,10.5 -1 comp 600lift/310 dur cam fully ported polished heads big stainless valves roller rockers, 135lb seat press valve springs, edlbrock victor manifold, 465 holley. 3500 stall 350turbo trans shift kitted. all reciprocating *** is shot peened and balanced. i did not build this engine ipaid $3000 for it. apprantly it cost $15000 nz to build. i just need to know what cofiguration it is to be able to buy the correct ignition system. ill post some pics soon
