i just bought a 95 firebird, and the a/c needs to be recharged. i looked in the chilton's manual that i have, but that just tells me it's to dangerous to recharge the system and that i have to take it into a shop. i've also been looking for it on several message boards, but i guess everybody already knows where it is and doesn't need to ask. can anyone tell me where the low end valve for a 3.4 L is so i can do this myself? thanks.

It's probably on the receiver/dryer or very close to it. The receiver/dryer looks like a big silver cylinder. Assuming 95's use R134A, just go to the parts store and get a recharge kit, there's one that comes with a gauge, hose, and large can of R134A refrigerant. Just follow the directions, it's really easy. This kit also conditions the O rings, because they eventually dry out and that's how you get leaks. if it still leaks after that, you need to actually get it fixed.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
