I have a 96 RS and I just recently found out that my block is cracked meaning I have to get a new engine :( which is very disapointing. Anyways I was wondering about how much a new crate engine (3.8) and installation would be. Plus I am not sure if I would need any new parts for it. Well thanks for your help everyone.

I have a 99' 3.8l that I'm doing a LS1 swap in the next couple of weeks. If you make me a good offer, I'll sell you my V-6 engine. It has 61,000 miles on it, but I baby my car to death. I did run a 14.3 in the quarter though with all the mods I've done to it. Just thought I'd offer. Can you even get a 3800 as a Crate Engine? Last time I looked GM only offered the 3.4 as a crate. Dude you want a complete setup you ought to check out High Performance Salvage INC. web page
