    Thats a little disapointing, I thought the V6's were 100lbs lighter, though it is interesting to note we save 40lbs by having an auto tranny?

      That sounds wrong because the manual transmission is a whole lot smaller in size than the auto, not to mention the lack of a torque converter.

        is the ls1 all alluminum? that could account for the close weight difference.

          All aluminum with a composite intake. They're pretty light engines. I don't think the weights calculate for the actual trans, just the hookups. Remember, the 5spd trans is lighter then the 6spd, so the v6's get some nice weight reduction right there [img]smile.gif[/img]

            I dont think the ls1 has aluminum heads i believe they are cast iron.
            Longtubes, true duals, ram air, caspers tps tec, ls1 26lb injectors, supersix powerpack, heads milled .020, comp cam .507 220/224 114 ls, forged internals and chromeoly pushrods, bored .030 over, tb spacer, tranny built with stiffer springs and kevlar bands, bigger servo, transgo stage 3 shift kit, edge 3600 stall, 1 pc aluminum ds, 3.73 superior gears, lsd rear ,custom pcm tuning, walbro 255 in tank,
