  • is a cold air intake worth it?

I just had a few questions about a cai like:

what hp gains are expected? are they difficult/expensive to install? what is the average price?

    thanks in advance

easy to install so there will be no expense. depends on what you get. they have like 40 dollar intake systems on ebay, but i doubt they are a quality product.

Most Cold Air Intake kits come with a metal pipe ehich heats up and traps heat heating the incoming air.Their gains are extremely exaggerated and their kits are incredibly overpriced. You can make one of your own but you have to be a little creative. You could buy one but $200 for 5 or 6 HP or not worth it too me.

how bout make your own? Low's or any store like that sells all the piping and hoses you'd need and all the materials will run you about 10 bucks.

I've seen the Cold Air Intakes on Ebay for our V6's and yes IMO it looks like an inferior part for $33.50. Those of you who say you can fabricate one for $10, I'd like to see the pics for bragging rights lol. SLP / K&N make decent ones but in the high dollar range, it's your car and money. Go for it!
