Oil in Cooling System?

I was washing my car the other day and it has been a really long time because we are getting a lot of rain down here in Texas. Anyways I went to check my coolant and it was all gross and dark now it has not even been a year since I last had my cooling system flushed out. I took it to get flushed out and they told me that oil had somehow gotten into the cooling system and it was in the reservoir and everything. I also had oil over a lot of hoses and stuff. Does anyone know what may have caused that?

Is there coolant in your oil? You definately have a leak somewhere, head gasket maybe? and for oil on the outside, maybe valve cover gaskets if it's up high on everything. Just check your oil, power steering fluid, and even brake fluid. Your power steering pump could be leaking or something and the belt throwing the oil everywhere maybe. Just check those things and let us know. How many miles does your engine have?

Oil in the cooling system? Sounds like a blown head gasket to me. I work at a Jiffy Lube and see that a lot when people coming for coolant flushes. Some pretty nasty things can happen, get your car checked out soon.

thats classic blown head gasket. btw, where are the woodlands, tx? do make sure to get that fixed. check your oil and see how it looks on the dipstick. check for some bublies on the dipstick.

My car has 125,000 miles and I just called my Auto mechanic, who is absolutely great and I know would not lie to me. If any of you have car trouble in The Woodlands, TX go to Christian Brothers. Anyways he told me that if it was the head gasket it would be the other way around that coolant would be in the oil. Im not exactly sure. And for nino The Woodlands is just north of Houston, about 35 miles. Anyways I had it all flushed out and it has been a week and the coolant looks clean so its kind of a mystery on how it got there.

sorry to say but i beleive it would be a head gasket also and i work at midas.
