    It is confusing.

LT1 is the v8 from '93 to '97. I believe it is all iron.

LS1 is the v8 from '98 and up. (I believe it was introduced on the vette in '97). It is aluminum block and aluminum heads.

    The parts don't interchange.

    L36 is our v6.

L67 is the 3.8 in a front wheel drive.

L36 is the non-supercharged 3800 Series II, available in both RWD and FWD.

L67 is the supercharged 3800 Series II, available only in FWD.

LT1's in F-bodies are iron blocks and aluminum heads. LT1's in G-bodies are all iron.

Actually LT-1's in F-bodies years 94-95 had iron heads as well. It wasn't till 96-97 they had aluminum heads, according to the GM specs.

                I somehow don't believe that.

I know the LT1 went to reverse cooling, due to the high compression, and aluminum heads. You sure the 93-95 f-cars had iron heads?

I'm pretty sure.. The 275 and 285 hp engines had cast iron heads. I think 1995 was split like the last few assembly runs went to aluminum heads.. When they upped to HP to 300 they had aluminum heads.
