  • JET PCM Chip Stage 2 startup

Does anyone have this.. It seems like after i put it in my exhaust it like toned down or something. I mean like when i start my car theres not that intially BLAST of sound after letting it sit overnight. It just cranks and flows through normaly i mean the startup sound it still pretty intense.. just not as much it seems like.

I got to thinking.. and with all this talk about backpressure and my tranny mount and whatnot being the reason i cant burnout.. could this be a symptom of why when i startup its like that, it seems like the engine doesnt have as much pressure that its releasing when i start it anymore after installing the chip..

I dont even know if it has anything to do with it.. but i do notice that it has improved my shifts dramaticaly, and i mean i really dont care about how it sounds at startup, just something i noticed and wanted to ask.

Does anyone else have any good feedback to give on the chip?

what do you recomend instead of a jet chip? why post only, "jet chips suck" and not have a backup company to argue a point with. Or should you just leave it stock?

I got a stage 2 jett module, it makes a little improvement over stock. I'd think that having the PCM reprogrammed or flashed you'd get more bang for buck.

The jet chip helped my car a little, maybe like 5 hp but not much else. Also i seem to be running rich with it on (thought this thing was supposed to lean it out) but in any case, i dont think it was worth the 200 spent on it.

yeah, i still got it but i was thinking bout taking it out. I dont think its really doing much anymore cept maybe coating my exhaust in carbon... I'm gonna take it out and see if I lose anything or not, hell, it only takes 10 mins to install anyways...

Sinc you have the OBD2 computer, get something better than jet chip. If you have the $$$, get you computer reprogrammed.

                        Jet chip: waste of money
                        Hypertech: waste of money

Get a real tuner. DHP or HP Tuners. Anything else is a complete waste of both time and money.

I agree with Matt above, i had jet chip, had to use premium, and with these gas prices its rediculous already, so i took it out and sold it, and didnt notice it being any slower.

and HPTuners is the best way to go.

premium gas is so much better for your engine though.. i'd use it and spend the extra 15/20 cents a gallon

Last time i filled up on premium I put 14.6 Gallons in for 30$ running at 2.05 a gallon

With low grade gas- 14.6 Gallons running at 1.85 a gallon would cost you 27$

Wow 3 more $'s fpr premium gas, give me a break.

I really don't want to start up the argument again, but premium gas is in fact a bigger waste of money than a Jet chip (unless you already wasted the money on the chip, then you've got to continue wasting more money for the gas).
