  • Monte Carlo SS Supercharger possibilities?

I was out with my girlfriend looking at new cars. SHe has her heart set on a 05 Monte Carlo SS. I noticed they have the 3800 in it with a supercharger. And it got my mind to spinnin, its a rear wheel drive 3800 with a supercharger. Does anyone think it would fit our car. Might be worth a look see. Let me Know what you guys think. im going to look into it some more.

The supercharged monte carlo has the same setup as the GTP and if you search there are plenty of threads on it. If you don't feel like searching I'll just tell you, it's alot of time and money because even if you cutout the section above your motor and get it to fit, the intake is in the back and you would have to cut through the firewall in order to make it work not to mention that you would have to do something about the throttle body since it's in the way off all the belts (unless you try and configure a weird *** pulley setup. Oh, and you would probably have to swap the heads and intake manifolds as well unless you can custom fab your own intake manifold to make it work. In other words, not unless you have lots of time money and tools. I wanted to do it but I have a college budget so...

It's too much money and work to even think about it.

you idea will not work. On a side note, if you can get your g/f to wait, the 06's are going to have a hell of a lot more power. The SS will come with a 303HP v8, even the base LS will have a 200HP 3.5. My wife has an '02 Monte SS. very nice car.

If you want a Super Charger check out the modifications encyclopedia. There is a kit out there for our cars. Keep in mind even though it's easier than trying to make the GTP/SS super charger work you will have to upgrade a few items. High performance fuel pump and bigger injectors, so the car doesn't run lean, and possibly forged internal engine parts (depending on how much boost you intend on running) for a few examples. I believe the kit they show for an example is internally belt driven, so there's no gears inside so you won't have to tap the oil pan to run a feed to lubicate it (not sure go check it out to make sure).
