The heater core draws heat from the coolant so if you pull heat our of the coolant then you have cooler coolant flowing through the engine so .... yes it does help.

I was just messing around in traffic one day with that. I watched my temp gauge drop from the 200-220 range to about 180-190.Black \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth<br />Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.
