• Exhaust hitting tunnel brace - ideas?

    Hey guys,

I found out today my exhaust is hitting my tunnel brace and making some very annoying rattling and banging sounds when I drive.

My initial idea to fix it is to take off the tunnel brace, add a few washers ( I'm thinking 2-3 on each side) and reinstall the brace, but is there another way? I mean, the reason the exhaust is hitting is because the exhaust itself is sagging; is there a way to tighten it up to get rid of the slack?

I do NOT want to get rid of the tunnel brace; that is not an option.

    Thanks guys!

either bend the pipe, or space the brace, those are the only options.

I'd try bending the pipe away from the brace first, personally. As a last resort, space the brace.

I think I'll have to space the brace because there is no way in hell that I can just bend that pipe without taking it off the car.

          Driveshaft safety loop ;)

most of them are built with larger exhausts in mind and offer extra clearance!

i just removed my tunnel brace..the factory one is a flimsy POS that doesnt do anything anyway

get a drveshaft loop or just put spacers on the brace
