squealing noise when i turn on ac/heat/defroster

i just noticed it today.. when i turn on anything ac/heat/defroster i start hearing a whistling/squealing noise?? it just gets louder when i turn up the speed??... what could this be??? any info greatly appreciated.....

fan motor is getting ready to go out, try tapping on the heater fan motor to see if it quits

well i went and checked it today and it didn't do it...

It's a 2002 model, take it to the dealership, describe it to them and tell them to fix it.

Oh yeah, get so that you can make it happen before you take it in.

something was sucked into the fresh air intake and it rubbing against the fan (sometimes). happens to me all the time. every spring i need to drop the blower (it up under the dash on the paassenger side -- easy to do actually) and remove whatever debris has collected.

there is a kick plate on the underside of the dash on the passenger side. remove this. i think it has some plastic pins, nothing complicated. after removing this you should see the blower motor housing. there should be three screws and an electrical connection. disconnect and remove the screws. it a little difficult since it rather tight in there and awkward. the motor/housing should just drop out. reach up inside and feel around for debris (check the squirrel cage on the motor for stuff -- spin it and make sure the bearing is going in your blower motor). when feeling around inside the dash dont use a tool and be careful since the heater and a/c coils are in there and are somewhat fragile.
