  • 200 Horsepower?

Is it hard to get a 3.4 up to 200 Hp at the crank. Thats all im looking for right now. I have a bullet performance exhaust system ( 3 inches from the headers back that goes into 3 and a half inch tailpipes)and a k&n fuel injection perfomance filter kit. Am I close to 200 at the crank. Thanks.

Um, you should be at if not a lil over 200 if Im right. You gotta remember that our cars our heavy as hell so 200 horses at the crank doesnt feel very quick at all. Only way to be 100% sure is to Dyno it.

well I know the car has 160 hp at the crank stock. I didnt think that an exhaust system and a filter could add 40 hp.

Get CAI, Headers, HiFlow Cat... That might bring you within 10 HP shy of 200...

But honestly I'm putting out 205 HP to the flywheel, maybe alittle more but it's not as quick as you would think because our cars are heavy...

...Well really they're not heavy but the fact is... they were designed for a V8 engine...

what about raising the fuel pressure. Would that give me some horsepower. If I get headers then I will have a full exhaust system. All the pipes from the headers back are 3 inches and it has a brand new cat. I just need to squeeze out 15-20 more horses. What about a throttle body?

i'd imagine a larger throttle body could crank out an additional 10-15 ponies.

                        our throttle bodies are 50mm ... get a BBK 52mm twin, or a 58mm (if that's possible)

i dont think chaing tb will help you any unless your really modded and need it ie. tiago's firebird.
a full exhaust system wakes up the 3.4s
porting the intake manifold does a nice job, also porting the paper wieght heads we have work nicely.
gasket match the ports is prolly all you should do, unless you wanna spend alot more money on a valve job.
                          good starter mods:
intake, exhaust system, pulley system, and gears....wont give you any hp but will let you accelerate faster
I will take on all comers...or come on all takers!!! Whichever you prefer.

The true power is in the heads and cam. You can't just do those though. With a large cam, you will need a strong ignition system and a free flowing intake and exhaust. Changing to a larger throttle body will help more with the larger cam than by itself.

you know that you lose like 15% of your power getting it to your rear wheels
