  • voltage dropping slowly at idle...

I've replaced the battery, had the alternator checked, and installed a new starter (it needed one). With this all done the voltage slowly dips into the reddish area on the guage and the lights dim just a bit. Any idea on what could be causing this?

Do you have an underdrive alternator pulley or underdrive pulley set?

Is the Voltmeter accurate? Maybe add an aftermarket one if the problem continues.

even if the voltmeter was wrong, the dimming lights still mean its dropping.

Dont worry my camaro does that also. For some reason our cars always have problems with that. Ive owned two camaros a thrid gen 84 and now my 95 and they both did it. Its pretty normal for our cars. Beisides buying a slightly smaller pulley to go on the alternator to make it spin faster, theres not a whole lot you can do for it.

Yeah ive got the same problem, doing it with my new high output alternator too. Mine isn't quite that bad but when it idles the needle is never contant, every second or so it dips down the goes back to normal...I think it might be because i need a higher gauge ground for my battery though
