It's a shame. You should see some of the other cars this guy has...

i get chills walking down the rows of mud-filled corvettes, porsches, and mercedes... it's like a parking lot full of dead babies, or a scene from a low-budget horror movie. It's enough to make me question my faith... Why God?!? Why THEM!?!?

:D

the crank shaft bolt on an ls1 23mm. AN SAE socket works as well...15/16" maybe...i forget. Don't forget to pull out ALL the spark plugs before you crank the engine with the harmonic ballancer bolt. just getting all the plugs out will take a fair amount of time. not easy.

at least you can get to the front spark plugs and get a wooden dipstick down there and check if the cylinders are full of water. check more than one cylinder though...the first one you check might be in the middle of a compresion stroke.

or at least get the hood and the air cleaner and the ENTIRE rear hatch...for the trans am spoiler.

Forget damage ! Do you know what was in that water!? You would probibly drop dead of disease just from sitting in that car for more than 5 minuts ! Trust me you cant clean the germs out of that car with over the counter clenser. Now it might work if you swap all the interior from your car but if you did that then you couldnt sell it. Ca ca poo poo dont do it!

That was the most convincing argument so far. I actually sat here for a minute and thought "you know, he's right..."

The car isn't from New Orleans btw. I believe he told me it was from Mississippi, so it wasn't necessarily floating in sewage for 3 months. It smells a bit musty, but it's not bad compared to other cars. It doesn't smell any worse than when you leave a fast food bag in your car on a hot day.

Anyway...

If I were to buy the car, I'd rent a steam cleaner, and get some of that antibacterial fog stuff to kill the mold. You can also buy enzymes that eat whatever bacteria eats, and then eats the dead bacteria after it dies. Supposedly this is a good way of getting rid of the smell and health risk. Should work a little better than windex at least...

Yeah, I thought about that too...
I did some research and found a fogger made for houses with mold issues. It works like a flea bomb, and seaps through every little nook and cranny to kill the mold and bacteria. I'd probably give that a try...

Anybody have an idea for getting the car into neutral without a key? I need to be able to hand crank the engine, which might be difficult if the car is in Park. If not I'll have to have the dealer let me have one made I guess...

Thanks in advance

HAHA. I can't believe I asked that. whoa... How dumb am I?

Well, for those that care, I went back to the dealer on Friday afternoon to find the Firehawk had already been stripped of the hood, tail, front facia, rear bumper, ttop glass, and other misc. peices. They sold it all for about $2000. It was disappointing, but life goes on :) He got in a few new cars this week, including a few 'vettes and a ferrari. They're all trashed though.

Take Care everyone.
