• Changing plug/wires in a 3.4

Ok, Im fed up with my garage.. this time they wrote on the receipt "runs rough- bad wires" but did not fix anything.. (misunderstanding?)

    anyway.

I wanna change them myself.. how hard is this?

    any tips/tricks?

Sounds like a platinum plug - they are all white. Describe what you mean by "looks bad". A typical plug pulled from an engine without severe misfiring problems or valve-stem seal or ring problems will look off-white to tan.

If the gap is too large, that can cause occasional misfires and make the vehicle run poorly.

        2 hours later.. all done

i dont think i routed the wires _exactly_ as they were before, but I hope its close enuff..

After taking a 20 min ride going 95+mph to *test*

a little faint smell of something under the hood, im guessing the wires have a "breaking in" smell?

all and all it fixed the entire problem, for 25$ and 2 hours.. not bad eh?

Just make sure it isn't from the wires burning because it is now touching a manifold or hot engine surface.

You shouldn't smeel anything from the plugs. Check your boots and where you have the wires run.
