  • oil gauge sucks =(

My oil gauge has done this forever but i figured that i would finally ask.. lol

When it moves, its like sketchy kinda.. The pressure when it wasnt broken was around 40 at idle i believe and 60 @ WOT. Now it just kinda stays at 60, goes a little below at idle and a little above @ WOT. And when it changes it like sketchy movements.. now smooth.

Car runs fine, SES light is on due to the fact that i dont have a o2 sim and i have no cat. I change my oil every 2,000 mi.

What could cause the gauge the stick like this? Is there anyway to fix this because i definitly dont want an ugly aftermarket gauge in my car. I figured it might be a sensor.. help anyone? I've never had any problems, car fires right up the first time, and ran a 15.7 with my stock 3.08 gear.

Mine stays around 60psi at idle, and goes a little above when its at WOT or I rev the motor.

You change your oil every 2k? Thats overkill...but whatever floats your boat. I change mine every 4-4500 miles.

Just add a single gauge pod with a 2 5/6 much more accurate oil press gauge with the wiring/sensors..

Not hard at all. I put a three gauge pillar pod in mine. Vac-f/p a/f
Check this out it will help.

Instead of the vac line you would have the oil pressure line, unless you buy an electric gauge. Then it would just be a sender wire

i have that same problem, well not really a problem.. It's good that your getting traction, my 60' times suffered from it a believe, but once it gets moving not having a cat helps.

are you a m5 or a4? I hold the brake down in 1st gear with my A4 and it wont pull out it stalls @ 2000 rpms. does yours do this? and when you had a cat, could you burnout?
