• Racing seats.. pros and cons

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2459526287

I'm really interested in getting new seats for the following reasons.
1. mine are gray cloth and kinda suck.
2. grey leather kinda blows, especially for fbodys
3. my car is pewter so grey blue leather.. i dunno if that works
4. my driver's seat is about to tear, the metal is poking through

Pros of racing seats
1. Lighter? I think so but how much? enough to make a difference
2. In this case, these are blue and that's the color of my interior so that'd match
3. Good leather substitute with a nice sporty appeal
4. Smaller? Thus more room for passengers in the back? I dunno the specifications

Cons
1. Driver's seat is power, i don't use it though
2. V6 camaro with racing seats? I haven't seen it before really, and i just think they'd fit my theme, not necessarily for racing.. yet

I dunno, that's really it though.

some answers please and how you all feel!

Factory fronts weigh in at 47 lbs each.
The back 3-Piece set weighs about 30 lbs.
Those racing seats weigh 28 lbs each.

I have sold some Corbeaus to some people in the past that chose the fixed-back seats. From what I hear, they really dislike them now. So, my suggestion would be to get some seats that recline somewhat. I have driven a car with the fixed-back seats and it's pretty cool for a little while. Then it gets a little uncomfortable.

According to the auction, those do have tilt backs.

ok so the only negative is that they don't recline.. which it seems that the ones posted do. Any other negatives.

Also a huge plus is that 47-28lb weight difference

that's 19lbs per seat and that doesn't include the power seat motor and such. Hm perhaps a total of near 50lb weight reduction?

That's generally .05 seconds off a quarter mile i'd assume, considering that 100lbs generally=.1 sec.

I might go to the local place today and try to find these.. the shipping is kinda gay with these. Any other thoughts would be totally appreciated?

Oh, are they comfortable?

Yeah, they are definitely comfortable. Find out what the situation is on the adapter brackets is also. I did not read the eBay post, but I am just throwing that out.
