i have a 180* and a 160*, the 160 is definately nice at the track because the car cools down WAY faster but my in city mileage went to complete ****...the 180* was good all around, gas mileage was still good and it ran a little better but for no more time than it takes to change them ill just swap between my stock 195 and 160 when i go to the track...

I have had a 160* in my 99 maro for over a year. I still get 33mpg on the hiway. The interior heat hasn't been hot enough on these recent 10* days, but I can deal with it.

During the 100* + summer, it didn't keep the car any cooler than stock. I think a bigger radiator would be necessary in those hot temps.

ive had my 160* thermo for almost 3 years with no problem except my temp gauge used to get stuck but ever since I got my HPPIII a few weeks ago my temp gauge works perfectly.

I had a 160*, but it started sucking down more gas so I went with the 180*.

The thermostat just controls when the coolant starts to flow. If you want to keep the coolant @ 160 degrees you need the fan on.

That all depends on if the car is moving and how fast if it is. If you are on the expressway, the car will stay cooled with the air hitting the radiator from the speed that you are moving. That is, unless you are in an extremely hot area of the nation.
