the left directional does not flash. i cheked the bulbs, there good, i checked the sockets even cleaned them and they look good, i shook the all the wires to the socket and they have no affect.
sometimes when it happens if i hit the rear lens, it'l start flashing again only to konk out again and it's only on the left side. could it be the flasher even though there's no problem on the right side. any help would be appeciated.

it may be b/c the bulb is not making a strong enough contact with the socket. i had the problem too and it was a bulb.
Did you try changing the bulbs with new ones? i know you said you checked them..i did that too, i though if they were on then it was good. But thats not always the case!!

the actual sockets get fried, its an easy, but expensive fix. Pick one up at the dealer for 52 bucks each.. at leas thats what it is in my area. Hope this can help
