  • Basic info about engine swap

Wanting to do an LT1/LS1 complete swap. Are there any good sites to get all of the parts needed for the swap other than ebay. Also how much of a price difference between complete LS1 and LT1, just for the parts, not any installation.

They can supply you with almost all the parts necessary for a swap. An LT1 swap for parts is going to be considerably cheaper than an LS1 swap. Depending on transmission, miles, and type of engine, an LT1 swap can be $1500 less than an LS1 swap. Give or take some ..

thanks for the website. Are there any reasons why I shouldnt buy a LT1 opposed to the Ls1. I mean there is a big price difference, but not that big of a HP difference. Which one has better and cheaper aftermarket mods?

Honestly if you don't know the differences between an LS1 and an LT1, you need to sit down and actually think about this swap.

Stock for stock, LS1 is more powerful than the LT1. I believe LT1's are better for low end power, while LS1's are better at high end. The LT1 has been around A LOT longer than the LS1 also...and if you are planning on modding out the car, LS1 is going to be a lot more expensive than LT1 mods. If you're on a strain for budgeting, and want to mod out the car, then an LT1 swap is going to be better for you. If you have the money, and will have a lot of $$ afterwards to mod, I would say go with an LS1.
