OK this may sound stupid but my car is screwed up and I can't remember. Does the fuel pump come on EVERY time you turn the key to the on position without starting it? My car has been acting up for a while where I start it up fine the first time usually but not always, cut it off, then come back 15 minutes later and it will either not start or it'll start and immediately die like its starved for gas. The fuel pump doesn't turn on til I turn the key to the on position like 3 or 4 times. Once I hear it engage it usually starts right up.
I don't know if its the fuel pump going bad because it never dies while i'm driving, just when I'm trying to start it. Don't know what else it could be. If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to share because I have no idea. Its a 2000 auto firebird with 57,000 miles and I've already changed the fuel filter and that did nothing sadly and its been doing this for about 6 months. Every time I take it in to get it fixed, it stops doing it and they can't find a thing wrong with it because the problem is intermitent.
