  • 01 HPP3 .... ?

I remember seeing and I searched for this topic, and a few people said that they had ordered theirs from Jegs or some other place and it was on back order. Has anyone recieved it yet?? I see the part #'s and everything are out there.. So why hasnt Hypertech started getting them to the public?

well, hypertech said that they havent yet released it to the public. So the people that did get one, got it directly from hypertech as beta testers. They need to release that thing!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought mine about 5 months ago from a local hi-po shop who sells a lot of Hypertech products. I guess he has some pull because I bought 1 that wouldn't install, then I took it back and swapped it for another with a later revision. It is for an M5 and is Hypertech part #30009 Rev. 161302. It seemed to really wake the car up. Especially when running at lower engine temps.

The guy that I bought mine from is Bill Strope Sr. at Strope's Speed Shop in Washington, PA. His phone number is 724-228-1166. Almost all he works on is late model F-Bods. I had him do the LSD upgrade on my V6 Camaro and a boat load of mods on my SS (I think am definitely on his Christmas card list).

If I remember correctly, that is the shop who does a LOT of work for GMHTP. Sweet.

OK, here is what I found out today about the availability of the HPP3 for the 2001 V6. It is not available yet to the general public. Hypertech has no idea when it will be generally available. It could be tomorrow or it could be next year.

However, it is available now in beta test at $435 minus some rebate the value of which I forget, but will let you know. To get it at that price you must call Hypertech (901-382-8888) and "apply" to become a beta tester. Hypertech will mail a form to you, you fax it back, pay for the HPP3 and the HPP3 should be on its way in a couple of days. That is the theroy, will let you know what turns out. The revision they are on now is 401xxx.
