• super duper fuel saver?

Anybody have any luck with those magnetic fuel saver deals? I was told they wouldn't work well with ferrous fuel lines and I can't find a damn rubber line anywhere under the hood to install one should I get it. Question is: Anybody with the steel lines try it and have it work?
If no one wants to answer that, just add in your comments about the products and your experience with them. Thanks a bunch.

It's a magnet that you place over a fuel line going to the motor. The idea behind it is that it polarizes the clumped molecules of fuel heading for the motor. The like charges repel each other and the grouped molecules break away from each other. This supposedly results in the gasoline being injected into the engine and it naturally wanting to get away from the other fuel molecules, thus atomizes quicker and burns better. Its supposed to reduce emissions because you're burning the fuel more efficiently. The more efficient the burn, the less gas you use to get a similar result. That means more miles per gallon. If it doesn't make sense to you, just google it and you'll find enough info on it.

Scroll down to the bottom where it talks about magnetic fuel treatments. IMO, I wouldn't waste my money.

for real, dont waste your money. Spend your money on mods that actually do stuff. Oil is non polar thats why you cant clean it with water so i would expect that you cant polarize gas. but even if you can, if you dont drive your car enough for sediments to build up in your lines get a bicycle.
And lastly i nominate ChevyGuy1022 for quote of the year

I'm not talking about sediment.
When your gas sits in the tank, heat causes the molecules to bond together, forming larger "clumps" of gas. These don't atomize so well. The thing's supposed to unclump the gas so it atomizes better.

Well, than be the first to prove all of us wrong and give it a shot. I can't honestly say it's a scam because I've never tried it nor have I known anyone who has tried it, but it looks & sounds like a waste of hard earned money.

look, im not saying its not possible, cuz ne thing is. but when you paint a car, to make the spray finer you change the air pressure or change the nozzle or sumthing like that to make the spray finer. if you find or do ne tests of your own then fine; i pre- congrajulate your good job on validating it. until then i vote to call it

and yes people should be cautious

My other hobby is moving small bits of metal with high voltage, high power eletro magnets.
It won't have any effect on gas.
They say that the gas molecules stick together and get bigger.
Why dosen't diesel, JP8 or oil do that?
Maybe gas get "heavier" (loses it's sweat smell) becasue the vapor pressure of gas is a little less then atmospheric and all the ligher molecules evaporate away, depending on the temp.
Diesel, JP8 and oil have a vapor pressure and temp bit higher then what is normal out side in the sun.

Before paying any money for a magic gas saving device, I'd remember one thing.

The manufacturer has to put a sticker on the car showing the tested gas mileage. It's often in the ads. If something cheap like a magnet or a fan in the intake could "atomize the fuel" and make that number higher, why wouldn't the manufacturer use it? Doesn't GM have a few :D engineers working to improve gas mileage?

Think about that though, if they made a car that was perfect they would eventually go out of buisness. Car manufacturers make money on the car but what about all that maintenance and stuff. Eventually the car will fail and you'll have to buy a new one. I doubt that GM is working on improvments if they are interested in their own job security in the longrun, but thats my 2 cents. If there is an alternate way to fuel a vehicle they won't use it till it can be taxed and accounted for. Thats also my reason of why weed is illegal, they can't tax it because its too easily grown thru the home. Okay I'm ranting... done.
