Okay, I know this is a V6 forum, and I have a Firebird w/a 3.1L V6 myself, but surely someone knows the answer to this: What is the biggest visual difference between a 5.0L V8 and a 5.7L V8, small blocks, specifically.

Well the new 5.7L Blocks are aluminum. Thats pretty easily to notice. I don't know about the older stuff. I'll try to find out and get back with you in General Tech once this gets moved there.

I am not sure... do not quote me on this but I think 305s, have center bolted valvecovers, and most 350s have bolts all along the outside.

I would try 3rd gen sectoin off www.camaroz28.com

      they will know better.

Planning for a swap? I looked into doing it in my 85 2.8L, but ran out of money and college started, sold my car to a guy who did do the swap and now shows it :( I miss that car.

There is absolutely ZERO visable difference in a third gen 305 and 350 block. Just like there is no visable difference between a 346 LS1 and a 383 LS1.
