I was wondering if there was any way to get an easy power boost. With out super chargering the car or anything like that. I am saving for a super charger but want some more power for now. That I get for cheap got any ideas.
So farI have a cold air intake, perfromance exstaut, headers, air temp modrule, computer upgrade, and high performance sprak pulgs and wires!!!!
Any one know anything else that maybe I could do if so please let me know
Thanks alot
Chuck
maybe try a throttle body spacer, get a cool thermostat, relocate your IAT sensor to as close as the filter as you can get it, and that's about all i can think of. total hp gains from these things: maybe 7 hp if you are lucky.
if you have an auto, a torque converter will knock some time off. No horsepower gain per se, but it will make your drivetrain much more efficient. If a manual, a performance clutch?
Better tires to get it all to the ground
Coils & MSD Dis-4 Igniton
What year is your car? If 97 or before, replacing your posi rear end w/ a zexel would help some on off the line performance.
Lighten the car.
That's all i can really think of. Not all of it is cheap, but hey, they are ideas.

A torque converter is an excellent performance mod! For an A4 it is going to make as big a difference as most other bolton mods, if not more. But they don't increase the efficiency of the drivetrain, they give the engine more "leverage". Most aftermarket converters are actually less efficient than stock converters. The torque multiplication is increased, which will give you a better launch. And the RPM's may not drop as far with each shift, so you stay in the power band. I believe some say you may lose mph in the 1/4 due to the lower efficiency though.

N2O ;) is all you really need.$550 for around 90hp extra to the wheels with a easily refillable bottle.I had this on my old 3.4 and all I can say is WOW.I used to love spinning sideways by flooring it at 20mph with the juice.

Just checked out your page Backfire and that is a very clean 3.4 (I really miss mine sometimes and I definately miss the no-payments thing!).Anyway I just wanted to compliment you on taking excellent care of your ride.If you'd like to know anything about the 3.4 then just shoot me an e-mail.I had mine torn all apart at one time so I may be able to help you out if you ever need it.Later.

for straight line speed. 1 piece driveshaft lt1 or ls1. Gears, I would get a used complete rear, and get gears, lsd, and disc brakes. Tranny mount? maybe torque arm bushing, LCAs? Springs/sways if you wanna start gettig into turning.
NOS is cheapest power added. Like the car, not the lack of a T-5.
