I had this problem on my 3.4 and my 3.8

Whenever im going at a steady rpm / speed .. saying around 2100 rpm my exhaust (flowmaster, no cat on 3.8 / flowmaster and hi-flow cat on 3.4) makes a high pitched whining noise.. the back of my body is cracked @ the bumper and is slighty touches the right tip of my exhaust and i know it makes a little rattle, but this is more of a whine. only does it while driving.

Anyone know what it is? ****ty job of welding both times? It's the same flowmaster taken off the 3.4 and put on the 3.8, maybe its the muffler?

    thanks guys

Funny you posted this b/c I'm having a similar problem, and I can't figure out where it's coming from... I'm pretty sure it's my exhaust but not totally sure. At first I thought it was my rear end or my tanny b/c it was only doing it when I was cruising. Then I thought it would be my muffler. So I dunno, but if you find out what's goin on... let me know ;)

don't ever bump unless you have USEFUL information.

it's just the nature of the beast. I had a flowmaster on my 3.8, have one on my LS1. It whines like that...probably just something in the harmonics.

I noticed that you (brink) have a staight pipe... heres what i did, from a sugestion, removed the cat and replaced with a glass pack cause i was told that the straight pipe would cause an annoying whine....

maybe, thats your noise... i never ran it without the cat otherwise so i dont know if mine woulda done the same...
