  • leaking coolant fast..! please help?

This may be related to the topic posted about the coolant drain plugs, but in case it's not... i'm looking for some ideas.

A couple days ago i notice a leak under my car. Checked powersteering fluid and oil levels...both seem fine.

Yesterday, took the car out for 15 min drive... engine temp went up to 210. Brought car home, looked under. The drip is coming from right behind the rear main seal, on the pan or whatever the cover is right behind the oil pan.

Checked oil again, as well as tranny fluid... levels fine.

This morning engine cool... checked everything including coolant. It is low.

Where could it be coming from to be leaking that far back in the car?

    Thanks!

The most likely suspect, is your water pump is going out and leaking coolant. Check the radiator or hoses, and where the thermostat is. Another source could possibly be the TB, but that is unlikely.

          UPDATE:
It's not coolant leaking. Went to JiffyLube cause they're cheap. Topped up my coolant for free and told me the tranny was leaking.

Drove down the street to Mr Transmission. They inspected, said tranny is fine, it's engine oil leaking for sure. Said it's coming from higher up to be the rear main seal.

The oil level is okay, so i think i can leave the car until next pay without driving long distance and be fine.

          thanks for the help.
