Does anyone know the part number for a 180 thermostat for an 02 fbody? Also, do I need to buy anything else like a gasket or anything for the install?
I'd prefer to buy it online if anyone knows where to get it. My local autozone is filled with people who know nothing and they were no help at all in trying to find this. I'll buy it anywhere, I just need a part number.
2002 Navy Blue Metallic 3.8 Camaro M5 - Y87, Sport Appearance, T-Tops
SLP CAI, K&N, Whisper Lid, Pro 5.0
Dynomax Super Turbo, 2.75 I-Pipe, Fasttoys Quad Tips
Kenwood KDC-MP919, Kicker IX405D, Focal Polykevlar 165K2s, JL Audio 10w3-2 Stealthbox
Any place that sells Stant thermostats should have it, Pep Boys comes to mind since thats where I bought mine.
You should buy a new gasket, only about $0.50 - it would fit a 44mm thermostat.
You can lookup the thermo that goes in the grand prixs or your car stock, and even if it doesnt list the 180 (only the 195) take the number (ST390195 for example) and look for the ST390180 version (This is not a real part number!).
Youll find your 180.

I went to autozone.com and found some part numbers for you
457-180 = normal 180 stat $2.99
GT751-180 = long life 180 stat $6.99
1023 = Hypertech 180 stat

Hey, I went to autozone and none of the numbers matched up. I'm very confused now. When I search the website, none of those numbers will come up either.

The Robertshaw Generation2 number is GT751-180. That is the 180 degree thermostat. If you are interested in a lower temperature thermostat - 160 degrees - the Hypertech number is 1009. You can order that from Hypertech or Thunder Racing. As a matter of fact, you can order the 180 from either one also. The 180 is just less expensive from AutoZone.
Good luck.

Thanks Red2K1, but can anyone provide a link to this? When I search GT751-180 on Google I get nothing. When I search it on Autozone.com I get nothing. When I search it on thunderracing.com I still get nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

Here is the Thunder Racing link for the theromstat: web page
You will notice that the 2002 is not listed. I can tell, however, that the part number 1009 does fit and work. I have it in '98, '99, and 2001 F-bodies. A close friend has it in his 2002 F-body V6.
My guess is that Autozone cannot help because they probably do not yet have listings for 2002 replacements.
You could also go directly to the HyperTech site and find the thermostat. The 180 PowerStat number is 1023. HyperTech Large download file. Requires Acrobat
