how do you know if your cat is going bad? does the check engine light suppose to come on? i'm starting to smell rotton egg odor every once in a while and wondering if that has anything to do with it.

Poor performance, rotten egg smell, and the converter glows a lovely shade of white {Super-HOT} after a nice long ride = time for change.
