  • help w/ coil selection

I drive a 93 3.4 w/149000 miles. I have a bad miss at any rpm and stalls when idleing. I replaced the plugs/wires and O2 sensors. I got the best plugs and wires autozone had. I believe the next thing that i should replace is the coils(how many/what brand). If I am wrong please correct me. I searched this site and looked at msd web site but i dont know what to get. I am looking to get someting at least compareable to stock maybe a litle better as my only mod is k&n fipk and it doestn't have to be msd.
edit i know i have a distributorless ignition

If you ask me, go with new MSD coils. They are comparable if not better than stock plus they can also be used with the complete MSD Dis-4 system on the 3.4 which yeilds good gains on our engines from what ive heard. If coils doesnt solve it, look for a bad Ignition Control Module which is what the coils themselves sit on top of.

I have been through 7 Accel coils. I switched to MSD coils and have not had any problems.

so i can get this part # MSD-8224 Desc. MSD Blaster Replacement 2-Tower Coil - 1993-2002 Camaro/Firebird 3 required and later on if i want i can get the dis-4 and not have to replace the coils because the msd's are only $7 more each. Also what is MSD-8870 MSD GM Coil Interface Module 3 required is this the same as the Ignition Control Module but it is just from MSD

The CIUs are used between the Ignition control module and the coil packs to make the wiring of the DIS-4 easier. You can use the coils with out without the DIS-4 just fine.
