  • Engine Restore

I have a 98 V6 A4 Camaro with 91,000 mi and just the other day I put some engine restore into my oil (Mobil 1) to see if it would make any differnce to compression, power, motor noise, but after putting it in my oil pressure dropped down to 45-50psi and after I ran it for awhile it dropped down to 30psi. Has anyone had the same experience? And does anyone think this is bad?
    Thanks

take that crap out...change the oil now. Do NOT add anything to the oil. The only stuff I'd ever run though my oil is seafoam or that gunk engine flush (only if extensively researched).

My 99 runs above 60psi almost all the time, on wal-mart full synthetic oil (quaker state full syn oil in disguise) 10w-30 and the ST3980. My motor has nearly 111k on it now.

I really didnt get why it was doing this since it said it was supposed to help and the viscosity was really slick in the engine restore stuff but im going to change my oil back to pure mobil 1 very soon.
I hope it didnt screw up my oil pump.

I don't trust ANY oil additives. Only thing that goes in my oil fill tube is oil.

                  Big Problem
I don't think its the engine restore thats making my oil pressure run so low. I just checked my antifreeze and its low and its not leaking so it means it must be burning it. It doesnt seem like its in the oil but im not for sure just yet. Tonight I am going to drop my oil and go from there.
Does anyone have any comments on what could be wrong?

any oil additive i would never use for more than 500 miles before i would change the oil. i will try restore, but unless it is crap stuff like really thin stuff it wouldnt be the culprit. change your oil at walmart and have them use castrol high mileage of the recommended weight.
dont use anything else. castrol is the best hands down. lasts longer than any other oil, havoline is junk so is penzoil. valvoline is ok for tranny fluid and gear lube. change your oil with teh supertrch crap oil. run it for a day, then rechange your oil with castrol it is kindof a flush for $4 worth of oil and WILL FOR SURE increase your oil PSI. have funn and read the label and reviews here before you put anything into your engine, and dont take just ones persons advice for that one person may be some dork that had one bad experience with the stuff and the stuff problably didnt cause that bad experience int eh first place. dont jump to conclusions. for more pyschiatric help please call...
