Alrite, I want to build up my 94 3.4L camaro M5. Do they make heads for my car? Is a cam worth it? where should I go after exhaust, intake, short shifter, plug wires, thermo and pullies? Headers worth it? thanx for any info. And hot sauce(n.o.s.} or forced induction are not options

I have a 3.4 with a comp cam and I would defenantly say that a cam is worth it. You might also want to look into gears. I have a 3.42 gear but its not installed yet.

My pullies work fine with my alt. Just make sure your alt and voltage regulator are in good shape and don't run a huge stereo system.

hehe I had some votlage problems too, but at the moment I am jsut running a crank pulley, I was browsing the for sale section ans saw a guy selling used pulleys and belt for $45, looks like a good deal, I paid $60 shipped overnight. The pulleys are ok not phenominal.

As for cams i ahve heard a cusotm grind is the way to go with a 3.4L.

the best mod I ever got is problable my gears I ahve 3.42s with limetedd slip, also did a 4-wheel disc brake conersion with that.

I think the way I am gunna go is get my Loudmouth installed, then Lingenfelter CAI,plug wires, crank pully,180 thermo, get around to puttin on my short shifter, headers and Hot sauce. Hows that sound? This is what I want to do...but there is that damn green paper! what do you think I will run w/ a 75 shot and the above mentioned? If I get good traction

What did you get out of the cam? Myc ar has 110K, is the cam worth it at this point or should I keep saving for the engine swap?

Im not sure about the gas mileage without the cam. I can tell you that I went on a trip to Indy for the US Nationals just recently and I got like 23 mpg. That was with just the cam and exhaust. We bought the car as a recovered theft, and it had a broke head bolt so we had to pull the engine right away. Then we decided to change the cam. I got a custom grind 206/212 432/444. It defenantly helped performance. Oh yeah, and when you change your cam, if you do, it is a good idea to buy new lifters mabey valve springs. I got my cam and lifters for around 300 give or take.

                          $300 thats not too bad

YOu may also want to consider gears and lsd.

By the way I am runing a 160*stat with no problem on my 94 3.4L if you wanted to go lower then 180* stat.

Not sure what you will run on juice, but tiago is a better person to talk about juice on 3.4L. maybe mid 15s? off the juice.

BTW, there are no heads availible for our cars, I think someone was working to get a set of grand am 3400 (series III? I know series II don't fit) to work on a rwd camaro but was having torubles with exhasut manifolds hooking up.

As for the ligenfleter intake, jsut sounds expensive, when it really comes down to it, a CAI is really a fancy tube with an air filter at the end. I made mine for $15 with stuf form home depot, not including my filter, and it seems to work jsut as good as any other filter.
