Hey, got another question. Has anyone had to replace their fuel pump? After hearing the price garages want to change it, my father and I decided we were going to cut a chunk out of the trunk and remove it that way from the top. So has anyone attempted this? Also, how can I pinpoint where the pump is so we dont cut too much, too little? Thanks.

I changed my fuel pump It was very easy- it took somewhere between two and three hours. The most tedious part is cutting the access panel with a dremel- you go through a bunch of those cutoff wheels. but, since 40 of them cost like 2 bucks, its really not a big deal. I put in a walbro 255 lph pump (got it for 100 bucks new online), and it was almost plug and play.
The old pump sits inside this cup-thing. I took out the old pump, and put the new one in, and the new pump almost fits perfectly inside the cup. Its just a bit taller, but on 98's at least it doesnt matter because the cup thing is mounted by rubber holders, and they give a little leeway.

Can you do me a favor?? Get an exact measurement and/or picture of your access panel so I can get a location of the pump. I really don't want to cut a huge panel if I don't need to... ;)

We Dropped the tank to do mine and it sucked. Access panel is the way to go there are instructions all over the place how, and where to cut!
