  • just bought 1996 maro, has a few problems

Hey all, I just joined this message board, and look forward to bieng on it way too much. Anyways I just bought a 1996 camaro, the fuel gage is stuck way above full, drivers side window will not move, radio display does not work I think thats about it. Oh yeah which stangs should I race, and which should I opt out of. Thanks

probably window motor~ $ more then you think
gas gauge~ dont have a clue
what stangs to race~ easy killer, any idea what gears/diff you have?

    any previous mods done?
check the mod encyclopedia for all the "free" mods you can do, definatly want to do intake/exhaust first.

Im gonna check out the encyclopedia, as for the window Im pretty sure it needs a new motor, I think I know where a parts car is, so I should be okay with that. Also what are the main differences between maros and bird?

Don't fix the gauge. If it's stuck above full you'll never run out of gas. :D

dont believe what a company tells you ull get out of a certain mod, make sure you know what kind of gains you should expect. a cold air intake isnt going to give you 20 hp on a near stock car.

Sounds like my car. I picked it up for 2000 and it had a few problems. Just be sure to do all of the routine maintenece like changing oil, oil filter, air filter, plugs, plug wires, fuel filter ect... I kinda like having to do all this cause i can work on my car with very little money. The radio can be replaced by best buy for like $100, the window motor is an easy change but maybe expensive, and just watch your trip meter and refill the gas every 150 miles to be safe.
