Just have a quick question. I changed oil in my wifes car the other night, and after I let it sit there and idle for about 5-7 minutes the idle got lower and kindy of loppy(is that a word??) I looked at the tack and it was about 850-900 rpm. I hit the gas pedal and it seemed to stumble just a tad before it revved up. Does anyone know what might be cuasing this? I have not SES light, and the car drives fine, its just that idle.
how many miles does the car have on it? if it's about 70k+ and you haven't had those spark plugs changed, then that's probably the problem. go get them or go change them yourself.
The car has 44000 miles on it, and I have noticed it before on other oil changes too, or any other time for that matter, like a few months ago I just started it up for some reason and it started doint the same thing. Might it still be plugs??
Hey guys thanks for the replys. I found the trouble last night. Well first of all I had replaced the alternator the same night as the oil change, and there is this module right behind the alternator that I had unplugged before I relized it was on this thing you ubbolt and slide backwards to get the alternaotr out. (Funny how that never made the car run bad or now SES lights???) I know this becuase I plugged it back up and still had this bad idle.
Anyway I listened to the engine running and sure enough I hear a hissing sound. I find the vaccum leak right there at the PCV valve cover on the intake. I put my finger there and the engine settles down!!! I had taken the cover off the PCV valve about a month or two ago and the gasket kind of messed up when I put it back on, but I thought it wasnt that bad, obviouslly it was!
So anyway what you guys suggesed made me think about looking in those places, thanks
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
