  • 3.8 engine differences????

    does anyone know where I can find or know of the top of their head the specific differences(other than a turbo) between the 3800 in our cars and the one in the buick grand national? thanks.

    First...ours are Series II 3800's so I'm sure there are quite a few.

      No!! Except for the name and the thermostat and some other parts they have nothing in common. The GN engine is a lot stronger in order to survive the hi psi forced induction caused by the Garret turbo. Different pistons, rods, crankshaft, valves, and cylinder head are the keywords here.           thanks for the help but i was wondering were i could find info such as the cylinder head desing, valve sizes and flow chart on both as well as cam specs fo the old 3.8? i want to see how different they are?
