do i need to change the timing

with a SLP CAI and 3" hi-flow cat, and 3" catback for my 97 3.8L, do i need to retard, or advance my timing at all to fully appreciate my mods... my old man keeps on telling me that this should be done, but i dont know, and also is it easy to do?

There's no way to really change your timing unless you get you computer reprogrammed. We have a distributerless ignition system. We use coil packs.
