i just had an idea while i was at work the other day. i had my car, my buddy has his mustang gt, another buddy has his honda civic, and then yet another friend had his 2002 WS6. So we all open our hoods and i see this civic's cold air, it goes over and down and the filter ends up right behind the grill all the way at the bottom. looked like a neat idea.

So here is my plan, get a smaller windsheild wiper fluid bottle. i mean tiny, put that all the way left looking at the engine, in front of the radiator where it is now. then run my intake to the right where it normaly goes then down and back to the center where the windsheild bottle used to be. i dont have any foglights in my car so i am thinking it will get massive fresh cold air from the fog light holes right in front of it. and since i have cheesy *** flex hose now. i talked to a shop around here to make me a smooth 2.5 inch 2 peice pipe to do the job.

so what do you think, dumb, or does it have any merit to it. i am thinking going to the smooth pipe alone will help, then adding the lots of fresh cold air couldnt hurt...

I dont think you'd notice any SOTP gains, especially if you already have the stock airbox removed. A full metal pipe will change the sound of your intake. I have thought about doing this as well, but just running the metal pipe between the ABS unit and the radiator, and then down to the ground where it is now. I also have part of the front plastic piece removed down there in front of the driver's side wheel. My filter gets dirty quickly because of it, but I always get lots of cold air.... :-D

if you have done the posted air intake mods you wont see much else by carrying out your plan... you're getting plenty of air.
